A note about SimsVille

After months of just poping in, and occasionally leaving a note, I think it's time to admit to myself that I'm uninspired by SimsVille at the moment.
It really breaks my heart saying this, because I really love SimsVille, but it's true :(

My last actual blog update was in June, after that I had the rebuild, which I was so excited about, but now I'm still stuck in the same place I was in December, and there's no progress at all!
I've played one family since the rebuild, but that's already months ago, and haven't actually played another one after that. I've loaded the game several times since then, and I played around with the hoods a little bit, but the spark just wasn't there. Some days I even loaded the game and closed it hours later without doing anything.

I don't want to quit playing the game, I love it too much, but I'm putting SimsVille on hold at the moment and I'm starting a new hood; for the first time in 6 years!
This new hood is called Linfort, it will go by allmost all of the same rules I had in SimsVille, but there are things in SimsVille I did wrong from the beginning, and stories I never told that were all in my head, and I'm going to try to avoid all of that with Linfort. I will start a new blog about Linfort!

As for real life, that hasn't been great since the beginning of this year. I don't think things will change much, but there's hope anyway.

I hope you'll all enjoy seeing/reading things about this new hood, and who knows, maybe this will spark me to start playing SimsVille again! I really am going to miss those sims :(

You can find the new blog here (http://linfortsims.blogspot.be/) - I hope to see you guys there!
There isn't much yet, but I hope to post the introduction of the first families later this weekend!

Thanks for the following all these years!

The Rebuild - Update 4

So it's been a while, I'm sorry. I have been simming, but there has been a lot of things going on IRL to make me focus on playing instead of writing updates.

The rebuid isn't done yet, but I'm getting there. I've created all of my playables, moved them all back in to their houses or build them new ones in case they needed one. All the house and apartments are furnished and decorated, and I feel quite good about that.
I let the families with babies have their babies again, made the sims pregnant who were pregnant, added the pets (since I was stupid enough to forget them when I created the families).
A lot has been done in SimPe as well, but not everything. I also need to recreate my dead sims, so I can do all of the relations, set all the relations and familytrees back in order in game, and get their businesses going again, but that will come eventually.
I have started playing again though! As much as I want all those empty spaces to be filled with lots, I started missing my sims, and really wanted to play again!
I'm having a lot of fun building and (re)decorating all these lots though, so I'll be continuing with that while I play.
And I'm still hoping to get my already played updates written and published as well as the lot tours, but that seems like a far away dream at the moment.

Anyway, in this update I thought I'd give you guys a tour of South SimsVille, to let you guys see what I've done the last couple of weeks.
So this is SimsVille as it looks at the moment. The part at the bottom of the map is South SimsVille.

The Rebuild - Update 3

As promissed in the last rebuild-update, I'll be showing you a little bit more of SimsVille this time.
I'm still liking the terrain a lot! It's bigger than my previous one though, so it takes time to fill it. To be honest I don't think I have enough sims at the moment, and I know I have a lot of sims already. But it gives possibilies.

So this is SimsVille at the moment. The road leading out of the map on top is leading to Simmeria, the one going off the map on the left leads to DimSimTown (which I haven't even started yet).

*** First a warning: this update is quite long ***

The Rebuild - Update 2

Here I am with another update on my rebuild. My 3 weeks off from work started and I'm very much looking forward to progress with this rebuild so I can add my sims back. I miss the actuall playing!
As I'm typing this, I'm loading my game and I plan to add the first 2 families when it's loaded, I'm so much looking forward to that.

On to the hoods now. As I already thought I changed the terrain from Simmeria. As much as I loved that my armybase would be in there, it's just not happening, it was way too big to work with, at least for me.
So I went back to the terrain I had in the old hood, but changed things a little bit.

The Rebuild - Update 1

Before I give you all an update on this rebuild, I want to take minute to thank you all for the kind words and support. I know I haven't been around much. I haven't posted a real update in months, and I haven't commented on other people's blogs, or posted much on N99. Unfortunatly real lilfe has keeping me busy.
I've changed jobs 9 months ago, and I like what I'm doing now, but I think it's kind of tireing having to talk/think/write French all day, when French isn't my motherlanguage. I do think that's part of the fact I have been so absent lately, I just don't seem to find the energy to do any writing in English when I get home. I hope that I can adjust, and that in a few more months I'll be able to combine the 2 much more, after all it's not like I do anything productive at home when I'm home anyway.

I really do want to thank you guys for commenting even though I don't do that much lately. I really appreciate it a lot!

Now on the rebuid-update; one of the most exciting things about having to rebuild, is picking out new terrains! This was actually one of the things I was actually looking forward to!
I've been thinking about a new terrain for SimsVille for some time now, but never felt like replacing the terrain and re-organizing.

SimsVille on hold ...

I think it's time to finally accept that I really need to rebuild SimsVille. I've been strugling with the pink flashing for some time now, and every time I thinks it's gone, it keeps coming back.

I thought it had something to do with the amount of CC I have in my game, which used to be around 17GB (I know I have a lot!), so I started deleting things, and it appeared that every time I got it under 16GB it was gone.

However lately it came back again, and I've been cleaning out my downloads-folder even more, I'm now under 15GB, and I keep deleting things, but the pink flashing keeps comming back. So I stopped thinking it was the CC, and started thinking the problem is the hood instead. And so I'll be doing a rebuild of SimsVille

I've been thinking about playing this last family before doing the rebuild, it's december in my hood, and so I'm almost halfway through my round, but my gave is pushing me in another direction.
I've been trying to do that the last month or so, and it's just not working.
Ussually I can play 2 or even 3 families during one weekend, if I have not much else do to, now my game hardly lets me play through 2 days without giving me the pink flashing. So finnishing this year is just not going to happen before the rebuild.

I admire Carla for what she has done by completely starting over with her downloads-folder when she started her rebuild, but I'm just not that brave.
So I'm going to keep cleaning out my downloads-folder, and I'll be rebuilding at the same time. I have to admit I'm not looking forward to it, but it has to be done.

This rebuild means there won't be much updates, and I'm aware that I haven't updated in months, but now you know why, I just kept thinking I could get it fixed.
I have some updates, that I still need to write, and I'll try to get them up so you'll at least see what my sims have been doing. And I'll also try to keep you guys updated with the progress of the rebuild. I don't if I'll have much time now, but I have 3 weeks off from work in September, and I hope to focus in this rebuild then, so I'll be able to get back to regular playsessions, and updates.

This rebuild also means that SimsVille will look different, I'm looking for other terrains for both SimsVille and Simmeria, because I got tired of the once I had.
It also means that some sims won't be living in the same houses afterwards, and for some families it's even possible they move from Simmeria to SimsVille of the other way around.
Some community lots might disappear and new ones will be build, ...

So I'm very sorry for the lack of updates lately, I hope to make it up to you when I get the new SimsVille going!

An idea...

I have this idea, and I want to run it past you guys to get your thought about it. I hope you don't mind.

Ever since I posted Jason Draper's last update, the one where he finds out he has 13-year old twins, he never knew about, I've had this idea in my head about doing a series of background stories of some sims.
I know I have a page where I give information about specific families (and a seperate page for my playable NPC's), and I know they still need a lot of work, but they just give basic information, and I want to give you Kristianne's storie a little bit more in dept, her side of the story,...
I don't know if any one here is interested in that, and that's why I have this post, to get some feedback.

If I go through with this I'm thinking of doing a post on Tao and Wang Zang, because they are brothers, but I don't know any one who reads this blogs can tell, and maybe one on Fen Mishoen and the 'troubled' relationship with her son Nio Terrano.

So please let me know what you guys think! And if you want to know more about specific sims, just tell me, so I can add them to the list.

The Last Couple of Moths

I've already told you guys that, even though I haven't been here, that I still have been playing my game. So I thought I'd show you guys what I've been doing.

Lately I've been redecorating almost every house I visit. Wheater it's for playing the family, or it's for a quick visit almost all of them got a make-over!

What I've been working on

I'm very aware that there haven't been a lot of updates lately, and I'm very sorry about that.
I have been playing though, and my game has been running every weekend, well almost every weekend, but I just didn't feel like writing the next update. I've started it in May and it hasn't changed a thing since than.
The families I've been playing, have been really interesting, at least I think so, and I also think they would make some nice updates, if I could only get this first one going!

I haven't been just playing my sims, I've also been building, and rebuilding, and thinking of things I want to do, and execute them, and ...

I wanted you all to see what I've been doing, without spoiling the next updates, so here a few pics of the thing I've been building and rebuilding.

This is the SVU campus, located on the boarder of Simmeria; with several faculties, most of them still need to be build, 3 dorms, private housing, community lots, ...
When you follow the road to the left of the map you'll be heading to SimsVille, on the right is the rest of Simmeria.

N99 - May Forum Project - Community lot conversion Avon Avenue

The May Forum Project at N99 was a make over of a residential lot (the Veronaville Villa) to a community lot.
I was really glad with this project, especially since I was able to participate because  I had 2 weeks off from work.
When I saw the top down view of the ground floor, I immidiatly thought to make it into something 'mall'-like, and so I did.

And this is the result. I hope I didn't break any rule by resizing the lot in lotadjuster, it was a little bit too big to fit in my hood, and I don't like those big empy space maxis created with a lot of their lots.

In And Around ... SimsVille

Some time ago I said in Twitter I was planning something 'special' to post here, so this is it.
The reason this is special to me, is because I've been planning this for some time now, I think from about I started blogging, at least not long after that, and that's almost 4 years ago.

I always love getting a peek into some one else's hoods, and so I thought it would be nice to do an 'In and Around'-series. And what better part of my hood to start then SimsVille?

SimsVille consistst of 2 parts; SimsVille and SimsVille Up Hill. For better pictures I decicded to do those seperatly.

As you can see on the picture, there are 5 main roads in SimsVille, there is another one, but there is no building on it at all.
As you can also see I've given them all a color, under the picture you can see who's living on that street and what businesses are there. The arrow in the color of the street indicates from where I've started.
The white arrow, pointing to the top of the picture, indicates the road to Simmeria.

N99 - March/April Forum Project - The Claudette for Carla

For the March/April Forum Project at N99, Carla asked for a rebuild of The Claudette.
Since I was in need of something similar, and I always liked the look of the original Claudette, I decided to give it a go, and this is the result:

 The front.

I'm kind of torn .... need some help (maybe)

I know it's been a while since my last update, and here I am asking for some kind of help ...

There haven't been a lot of updates since I really hadn't had much time. I changed jobs at the beginning of the year, and I'm no longer working in shifts. Since I only do day-work now, I don't have as much time to play, write or even keep up with the blogs I follow or the forums I'm a member of.
So I'm really sorry for that.

The other reason I haven't been updating a lot, is because I've been having the pink flashing problem Carla had. I've been ignoring it for some months, and since it's such a random problem, it sometimes seems the problem was fixed.
I've been able to play these past few weeks without any problem, and I was starting to feel confident again, untill today. After exiting a lot my hood was pink again. I entered a house, and went back to the hood, and then another house, and again back to the hood, no pink anymore and no crash, but I'm kind of scared to play again.

The thing is, I really don't feel anything for rebuilding, I had to do it once, and I'm really not looking forward to it. I'm have a huge respect for Carla and Maisie who are doing it at the moment, but I just don't think I can bring myself to do all of that.

The problem is that the only other solutions is to start all over. I'm not looking forward to this either. It will be a lot of work as well. And even though it might be a new chalange, and it will be interesting to see new sims and explore their personalities and backgrounds and all, I will miss my current sims so much.

And the last problem is that I don't want to redownload everything I have in my downloads-folder.

So this is where I could use some help, tips or whatever you all are willing to share; I have no idea what to do know, please give me your ideas!

Thank you!

Tanja's Fake Rowhouses

Since I'm, once again, late with my update, and since I haven't had much time to comment, reply and do all such things, I decidede to share some more lots with you.

After seeing some of the fake rowhouses some have build, I got inspired to do so myself. So I've build these house a really long time ago, I think over a year ago, and I've had families living there for some time as well.
They aren't very big, but I think they are easy to play. At the moment I have 4 families living in them, Kenneth and Lawrence Warner, Olaf Verbon and her 3 children, Morgana, Zenzi and Anthony, Mariëtte Alenis and boyfriend Adam Snijder, and her daughter Bethany, and a family you haven't met yet.

So on the to tour:

Still not a real update ... but it might be worth reading anyway :)

**WARNING: might be long and full of pics**

I'm still not ready to post some real updates, but I can share some good news with you; I was able to fix my hood!! I'm so happy with this, since I really didn't want to rebuild, and it was taking so much time.

For the next update I still need to finish building some lots, and I don't have any pictures yet, and since I won't be having any time this weekend, I'm afraid the update won't be up untill late next week.

In the mean time I have some picture I can share with you all.
I've been working on my university (SimsVille University - SVU) a lot. There are over 4 or even 5 new lot, and I still have a lot of work to do.
The new lost are: SVU library, SVU Faculty of Science, Landgraab Hall, SVU Faculty of Preforming Arts.
I'm also in the proces of building some more, like a dance studio, a music hall, student central, ....

I have pictures of some of the buildings, some lot tours and I even a lot you can download.
So let's start!
I wish I could show you a hood view, but Simmeria is, yet again, undergoing a transformation, and I don't have any good pitcures yet.

I'm sorry, but it's not a real update

I just want to let you all know that there won't be any updates for, what I hope will be a short time.

I've been experienceing some major problems with my hood. It keeps crashing. Even the back up, that works, start crashing after a period of time, so there really is no playing possible at the moment.
I've been working on fixing the problem, but nothing seems to be working, so I'm thinking SimsVille is broken.
However I can't give up SimsVille. I've put a lot of time in it the last couple of years, and I can't think about starting all over again! So instead I'm going to try to recreate SimsVille, with the same sims and houses. At the moment I'm gathering all the information I need to recreate.
Unfortunatly this is going to take some time, but at the moment I have another week off from work, and I hope the have most of 'the move' done by the end of that week, so I can start updating normally again!

In the mean time I wish you all happy simmingdays :)

You guys are the best!!

Last Saturday, only 30 minutes after waking up, and 30 minutes before I had to leave to work, The Lunar Fox notified me on twitter, that I had a love secret!
I have to say I couldn't believe it at first. I always thought that, if I ever ended up on that site, it would be because some one didn't like me, but this is so much better!
I immediatly mailed my sister, she's the only one who kind of gets my sims-addiction, and where I was dreading to go to work before I left my apartment with a big smile on my face!!

So to all of you loyal readers, and of course to the one who made this secret love, a major thank you for sticking it out with me.

You guys really are the best!! Thank you!!

Valentine Day's Special - My love for building

I know it's not really the love they mean on Valentine's day, but I only recently switched to ACR, so I still need to figure out which couples are a good, or even great, match, and I already did a post on my favourite couples last year, so I couldn't do any of that. That's why I decided to share my buildings with you.

As some of you already know I did hoodreplacement on Simmeria last september, and with it I decided to redo Simmeria completely. When building all those new buildings for Simmeria I realized I wasn't too happy with the ones I already had in SimsVille, so instead of finishing Simmeria first I'm now redoing both of those hoods, and playing in the mean time.

This update will include all of the new buildings I have been building for SimsVille. The ones I'm doing and already did for Simmeria will (hopefully) follow in a later update.
I may disappoint some if you because this update will not include tours, I will however inculde top down views to give you all an idea of how the lot looks on the inside, and if I allready did a tour of the lot on N99, I will of course give the links :)

Ending round 9

First of all, happy new year to you all!!

After what seems like forever I finally ended round 9! I had fun playing this roud, but now I'm looking forward to start the next one.
During round 9 I have been thinking about some changes for SimsVille, and one of the things that will change next round is my agingsystem. I used a system that was borrowed from Sullivan, and was adapted to my own liking. I have been thinking about changing that system for quite some time now, and starting round 10 there will be a new system, a system that is even more close to Sullivan's as the current one.

This is how it was untill round 10:
Birthdays when turning 1, 4, 11, 18 and 55

And this is how it will be from round 10:
Birthdays when turning 1, 4, 12, 18 and 60

These changes can be a little bit confusing since some sims already had their 55th birthday and are already elders according to the old system, while others will have to wait some more years.

Another thing that will be new in round 10, will be ROS. After thinking about it for a long time, I finally decided to go ahead and introduce ROS in SimsVille. I've rolled my ROS some time ago already, and despite one thing I'm really looking forward to do it!
You'll find out what I rolled later this week.

Also new this round, I'm switchting to months instead of seasons. The new shedule will be up later this week too, and I'm going to do my very best to keep it up to date this time!

I'll try to keep the updates comming once a week, but I would love to change that to twice a week, unfortunatly I don't see that happen any time soon.

Ending round 8

So I have finally ended round 8! In game is was finished some time ago, I even played a little bit of round 9 already.

First off, some updates ago, someone asked me how many sims I have in SimsVille at the moment, so I did a headcount.
And here are the results:

I have 38 playable males and 40 playable females, so this is a total of 78 playables.
I also have 9 male playable NPC's and 4 female playable NPC', this is a total of 13 playable NPC's.

This brings the total to 47 males and 44 females, and a complete total of 91 sims!

For round 9, I played a little bit with the rotation. Since I wanted my school to get updates, and I wanted these updates to happen in the first year of a round, I had to move those families to a place sooner in the list. Since I had to change the place of others too, I decided to change the whole playlist. Check out the new playlist.
As I already said I'm going to post updates of the schools. I have been thinking about posting about university too, and I think I'm going to do it. It will be in 2 updates, 1 in every fall. Don't expect much of it though, there's not much going on at SVU!
You may also have noticed a new page in the bar, Student Index, feel free to check it out, this way you can all follow my little simmies too.

I said, some time ago, that I will insert ROS starting from round 9. Well, I'm definetly planning in inserting ROS, but not right now. I'm still discovering my sims, and I still love planning their lives, maybe a little bit too much!

I hope you will all enjoy round 9, I've loved playing so far.

Next update, will be up, normally, tomorow, and will be the Winter birthdays of 2016!
