The Rebuild - Update 1

Before I give you all an update on this rebuild, I want to take minute to thank you all for the kind words and support. I know I haven't been around much. I haven't posted a real update in months, and I haven't commented on other people's blogs, or posted much on N99. Unfortunatly real lilfe has keeping me busy.
I've changed jobs 9 months ago, and I like what I'm doing now, but I think it's kind of tireing having to talk/think/write French all day, when French isn't my motherlanguage. I do think that's part of the fact I have been so absent lately, I just don't seem to find the energy to do any writing in English when I get home. I hope that I can adjust, and that in a few more months I'll be able to combine the 2 much more, after all it's not like I do anything productive at home when I'm home anyway.

I really do want to thank you guys for commenting even though I don't do that much lately. I really appreciate it a lot!

Now on the rebuid-update; one of the most exciting things about having to rebuild, is picking out new terrains! This was actually one of the things I was actually looking forward to!
I've been thinking about a new terrain for SimsVille for some time now, but never felt like replacing the terrain and re-organizing.

So what I have been looking for in a new terrain for SimsVille, is a terrain a little bit bigger that the one I used to have. It had to be a flat one (I got so tired of the hill in SimsVille!), it had to have 2 exits, one to Simmeria and the other one to DimSimTown (which might not happen in the end, but more on that later), and  wanted to be able to create some different "area's".

So this is the one I eventually choose:
The road next to/under the white arrow is the one leading to Simmeria (which about a 15 minute drive away). The part above the river is the norths-side. The orange square is where the farmers live (Gradonni and Mertens). I've also added a campgroud with swimmable lake. The yellow square is where the Penninkmeijer's live; the richer part of town. I plan on building some fancy prommenades across the street from them. I didn't want any families living on beachlots anymore, so the 3 beachlots I have will be commynity lots only!

For Simmeria I wanted a terrain where I could combine my univeristy with my downtown. It also have to be flat, and needed to have 2 exits as well, one to SimsVille and one away.

This is the one I choose:
I have to admit this one turned out much bigger than I anticipated! I planned on building an armybase and a science-center in SimsVille, but now I'm thinking about turning the blue square into the armybase instead, because I have absolutely no idea what to do with a terrain this big! I'm even thinking about taking another one. The red area will be SVU. And the white arrow is leading to SimsVille, which might change to the left side of the map.
There will be some kind art-area as well, with a theater, some appartmentbuildings, some museums, art park,...

As far as vacationhoods go; I haven't added any yet. But I'm tinking about just adding 2 instead of 3, since I never take my sims to Takemizu Village anyway, but I'm not sure yet.

So this what I've got so far. I might have changed everything by the next time I post an update! Lol!

  1. Everything's looking great so far! I'm glad you've been able to look at the bright side of rebuilding, in the form of picking out a new terrain. I was happy with mine and kept the same ones but I did enjoy being able to get my CC in pristine order, finally!

Good luck with the rest of the rebuild!

  2. Looks great!

Question, DimSimTown? Did you ever play that as a main hood in the early days of ts2? That name seems so familiar

  3. I've always admired how organised your game was, and the new set-up looks as if it is going to be even better!
If I can ever be bothered to re-organise New Maximiliania (as I've ment to), it will be thanks to your good example :-)

  4. Looking good! I like the plans you have for it, and I am one that always changes up my terrain too in a rebuild. Well for South Port anyway, I keep Millwoods. I like the idea of the army base being right there. And I'm looking forward to seeing your community lots too! Lots of fun stuff in store for your sims.
