The Belio Family
(Quan Min is 52, Chu Min is 51, Hans Mokara is 50, Yin Mokara is 47, Jack Pennikmeijer is 27, Johanna Penninkmeijer is 24, Emma Zanobi is 16 and Marlys Zanobi is 14)
Since Steven and I turn 14 at the end of the year mom and dad thought it was a good idea for us to get a job. Since we can't both work at Belio's Bunk, and I'm not that interested, Steven decided to work there at the cash register.
He's not that good, but he's getting there, and dad is happy with all the help he can get. Steven is happy that he works at the shop, and is hoping he can soon start restocking and selling.
I was happy Steven decided to work at the shop as well, and I was kind of hoping to be able to hang around at home a little bit more by telling I hadn't found a job yet, but it didn't help. So I now work at the military base in DimSimTown.
We don't have to work every day though, so on out free afternoons we ussually go to the pier, since there's an arcade. Both Steven and I are counting down untill we can hang out in Simmeria after school, which is something mom and dad don't allow us to do untill we're 15. SimsVille isn't too bad though, so it's ok.
Most of out friends area allowed to stay in Simmeria after school, or they live there, so most of the time it's just me and Steven, but sometimes we are joined by Marlys. She and Steven seem to be getting along pretty well.
With work and hanging out after school, there wasn't much time left for homework. It's needless to say that mom and dad weren't impressed, and they grounded us untill our grade would be better.
So the day they went to a barbeque at uncle Quan and aunt Chu's house, we normally would have gone out, but instead we had to stay at home.
Since aunt Chu and uncle Quan live right next to us mom and dad could keep a close eye on us.
It was a bummer not to be able to get away. Mom and dad stayed away pretty long, if I had known that beforehand I think I would have made plans to sneak away!
Instead we both acted like 'good' boys, and did some reading for school.
And finished our homework, which really was more work than I expected.
I asked Emma to stop by as well. I really like her, and started flirting with her some time ago, and I think Emma likes me as well.
I know we're grounded but since she came to our house I did follow the rules, technically.I didn't want to take any risks though, so I took her up to my room and when I saw mom and dad coming down the hill, I had her sneak out of the house.
I do hope mom and dad stop foucssing so much on Steven and me, especially now that Jo brought her the new that she's expecting a baby.
I can't believe that I'm going to be an uncle by the end of the year, but mom of course is thrilled! She can't wait, and is already overwhelming Jo with 'good' advice.
Extra:
I just love how 2 teenaged boys can have so much fun on playeqipment for children!

- I'm pretty sure this update isn't really well-written, but I hope you still like it. Sometimes I can have some trouble getting my point across in Engilsh, and this is one of those times where I'm struggling. I know how I want things to sound in Dutch, but I can't find the right translations.
- I think it's a bit stupid that teens lose their jobs when their grades get bad! But it's what happend with Steven and Stephan, though in my mind they are still working :)
- Emma and Stephan might be a bit of a surprise, but I summoned her to the lot, and had him interact with her, and they get along pretty good. They have 1 bolt of chemistry, which I know isn't much, but they are teens so we'll see what will happen between those 2
- Steven and Marlys get along pretty well as well, but there isn't any chemistry between them, and Marlys is seeing Morgan Penninkmeijer, but she's good friends with Steven.
Don't worry, your English is not "perfect" (whose is?) and there are some typos, but it is always clear what you mean from the context.
ReplyDeleteI think it is right that teens lose their jobs when their grades go down too much. Wouldn't it the logical thing to do for parents if their children's grades were suffering, to make them quit their after-school jobs?
Also, it is funny that the boy who works at the shop is allowed to work the cash register first - I'd have thought work at a shop starts with restocking, then selling, and the part actually involving handling the money, i.e. the cash register, last :-)
Thank you! I always have typos, even when I write in Dutch :) but I'm glad I can make my point :)
DeletePersonally I think the option of quiting should be something the teen and his parents should make. I think that's what it would be in real life. But as much as I dislike the fact that they were fired from their jobs, they did need the extra time to get their grades up :)
Now that you mention it, it might be a bit weird to start with the cash register, I never thought about. I usually let my teens handle the cash register, and let the owner do all the rest. No idea why actually :)
Thanks for reading!
The boys are actually very well behaved, there's a local business that will fire employees if their grades go down. They pay extremely well, so it's an incentive to keep good grades.
ReplyDeleteThe boys aren't too bad, except for their grades that is.
DeleteI don't like that part of the game that much, but I still love the game :)

Stephan is a typical teen! I love him following the letter of the law but not the spirit, by inviting Emma over - after all, he didn't leave the house, lol!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the boys got some study done while their parents were out though! It might save some grief down the road, if their grades improve as a result.
It would be something I would do, follow the rules to the letter :)
DeleteIt would be nice to see their grades go up, but to be honest I don't see them go to college in a few years, but who knows, they might surprise me :)
