Mishoen - September 2022

Last update/Next update

The Mishoen Family
Fen is 60 and Goofy is 57
(Tina Mishoen is 21, Enya Terrano is 7, Sayda Terrano is 4 and Zoey Mishoen is 1)
Narrated by Goofy
Both Fen and I like this house, but it's really a little bit too big for just the 2 of us. So lately we have been talking about moving. Both Nio and Tina live in Simmeria, and we would like to live closer to them and our grandchildren.
So I have been checking real estate sites almost daily, and we've been looking at several houses. I never thought it would be this hard to find something. We don't ask for a lot, so we thought it would go fairly smooth.
Finally the realtor showed as a house, we both fell in love with. She was really enthousisastic about it since it was a new one on the market.
When we finally sealed the deal, we still had to tell the kids about the move. Nio really didn't care, I know it's hard to say it that way, but he and Fen never had a great relationship. We were prepared for Tina to be difficult about it, and came up with all sort of explanations, but she was really glad that we were moving closer.
One of the things we really wanted in our new house, was a large garden, with a swimmingpool, and space the put our hot tub.
Another thing we really wanted was room for an inside gym. I'm not as active as Fen is, but I can really enjoy a good work-out once in while.
The gym is part of the garage, and we had to do a little bith of work to get it all the way we wanted it, but that didn't bother us too much. We now have a smaller house, with a nice garden, swimmingpool, and an inside gym, so it's all we wanted.
Enya and Sayda were thrilled to have us living closer! They kept beggin their parents to let them see the house, until Stella and Nio got tired of it, and arranged a complete sleepover for the girls.
I think they were really glad to have us closer, but they were more excited about the sleepover. We really tried to spend a lot of time with them, and give them a nice day.
I love both girls as if they were my own granddaughters, and they see me as their granddad as well. I feel really blessed to have them in my life and see them grow up.
It was nice the have the house filled with children again! I'm hoping we can do this more often when Wylco and Zoey are older as well.
The girls were really excited when they saw we could turn the couch in to a bed. Fen and I had planned to sleep on it ourselfs, but once the girls saw it, there was no way we were going to be able to let them sleep upstairs.
So instead we had go go to bed rather early so the girls would be in bed on a decent hour.
I thought they would wake up at least once during the night or that they wouldn't sleep good or anything, but they were fast a sleep really fast, and we didn't hear them again until the next morning.
As  much as I love Enya and Sayda, I was happy when their parents came to pick them up the next day. Of course there is hardly ever a quiet day in our house since we moved to Simmeria. I don't work full time anymore, and neither does Fen, so we offered to look after Zoey when Tina has to work.
She's such a sweety, and both Fen and I adore her! She's in the phase where she's repeating everything we say, and she's so much fun.
We've gotten he some toys for when she's visiting. She really loves the jack-in-a-box. Everytime the guy pops out she hugs him.
She likes the swirley-thing we've gotten her as well. Tina told us she has one at home too, and is constantly playing on it. I don't feel comfortable letting her play with it on her own, so I usually sit with her.
Even though Tina lives with 2 friends, and they help her out a lot, I sometimes think being a single mother is hard on her, but she does a great job, and Zoey is a nice kid.
Tina takes on every oppotunity to stay over for dinner. Sometimes I think she moved out too fast, but I think she does thing I don't want to know either.
Fen is always there to give Tina advice on how to handle things in her life. Tina is rather easy going about it all. She usually just agrees with Fen, but I'm sure she does whatever she wants when Fen isn't around.
I don't think Fen is the one to tell Tina how to life her life, god knows she did some stupid thing when she was Tina's age, but on the other hand I love seeing them together.

  • Some of you may reconize Fen and Goofy's new house; it was part of the April Forum Project at N99. I have been thinking about who I could move in, and now I've finally figured it out. I know Fen and Goofy were rather new in their old house, but it really made sense for them to move closer to their children, and since they both live in Simmeria, the choice was easy.
  • Fen has a rather fgood relationship with her grandchildren, which is still more than what can be said about her relationship with Nio, but they are getting there. I'm sure that one will never be great, but at least they don't hate each other.
  • This update was yet again inspired by Carla from Sullivan! She always does this great things with her empty-nesters and she always gets me inspired to do more with my elders, well actually she inspires me in about all of my playstyle!

  1. Can we see a shot of the whole house, please? The bits you show on here look very nice!
And is it just my impression or do the girls have a bit of a strange skin tone?

By the way, I have started to transfer my stories about my all-Maxis-families neighbourhood to a new blog, you can find it on my profile. It is not much yet, and I need to write an introduction etc., but I'd be happy to gain a few readers for it :-)

    1. There's a complete tour at N99; . I just changed the colors to suit Fen and Goofy more. I'll try to post a tour, but I have no idea when that will be.
Enya and Sayda and their little brother Wylco all have an alien skintone. They are Stella Terrano's kids, the alien girl that comes with university. I added her before I changed her skinone, and it was too late to change it when I realised I could have done that.

I'll check our your blog later!

      Thanks for reading and commenting!

  2. Fen and Goofy are great grandparents. You can really tell how much they adore spending time with the children. Enya and Sayda sleeping over in the sofa bed is the cutest thing ever! I'm glad they've got their grandparents closer now, so they can do that sort of thing more often.

The new house looks great! I didn't recognise it from the angle in the first picture. :)

    1. I'm glad Fen and Goofy get along so well with their grandchildren! I remembered some time ago, maybe a long time ago, you had Trent and Megan have Declan and Caitlin over for a sleepover in a tent in the garden, and I thought it was such a great idea, that I wanted to do something similar, and this is how it turned out :)

The first picture is actually their old house, that's why you didn't reconise it :)

      Thanks for reading and commenting!

  3. I really like their new house and think they are great grandparents. All the kids are super adorable. And I agree the other house was too big for sure.

    1. To be honest I don't think that old house was that smaller, but at least now they are closer to their families.

At least Fen is better grandmother to Nio's kids than she ever was a mother to him.

      Thanks for reading and commenting!
