Françoise: Almost 18! I can't wait! I'm aleraedy planning what I'm going to do when I finally turn 18. Every day I have another idea, so those plans keer changing.
One thing that isn't going to change though is my love for the color pink. Mom and dad told me that I could redo my bedroom, change the color and things like that, but that's not going to happen; some changes, yes, but change the color, I don't think so. Another thing that isn't going to change also is my love for Yuan. Some time ago he took me to his brother's wedding, so I think that he still loves me too.
Mom is still working on part 2 of her Franelle-series. When I go to school she at the computer, and when I come back home, she's still there. I don't understand it. She used to have lots of friends, and she used to love to go with dad and open the café. But lately she seems stuck to that computer, and when dad wants to open the café, she always finds an excuse not to go.
So dad tries to amuse himself at home, but I know he's getting tired of being stuck in the house. If I were mom I would know what to do. There would be no one keeping me inside the house when there is so much going on outside. I can't wait to go with dad to open the café!
But mom has me staying at home too. I don't know why, she never told me, but I overheard a conversation between mom and dad, and mom told that altough she know's I'm almost 18, she still thinks I'm too young to help run the café. I got so furious when I heard that, I didn't stay to hear dad's reply, but since I'm still at home I gues it didn't change a thing! There is nothing here for me to do. Mom's always on the computer, so I can't do something on it, and that's all there is to do, so I'm make snowangels, although it's already spring!
Of course there is always Ellie, but an age-difference of 10 years is hard to overcome. I mean she's sweet and all, but she's 7! What is there I can do with her, play with her dollhouse?? She's always busy with school anyway. Don't know why, it never got me anywhere!
Finally, my 18th birthday! The day I have been waiting for for, well 18 years! The day I can do whatever I want without having to justify my actions to anyone!
The fist thing I did was invite Yuan over, so we could pick where we had left off years ago! And we hit if off right away!
I don't know what I expected the next morning, I know mom and dad heard some noise comming from my room. I figured mom would say something about it, and dad would ignore it, but I didn't expect to fnd mom at the breakfasttable in her underwear! She invited Yuan and me the join her, and she talked all the time! I don't know for who is was more embarrasing, but we got through breakfast.
After breakfast mom got dressed and went back to her book, and Yuan left for his work. Since I don't have a job, and I'm not planning on looking for one, after all I've got the café, I desided to go shopping. I needed some jewlery so I went to the Town Square.
I bumped into Yuan's mother there, and we started talking. It wasn't the first time I met her, I met her at the wedding too, but then we didn't have the time to talk. We actually get along really well. She's happy to see her son happy, and to see him settle down.
Dad agreed to wait another year before taking me to the café with him. I wasn't too happy with dad desicion, but I seems like it was the only way to persuade mom. Since mom doesn't want to go to the café anymore, and dad needs some one behind the bar, he stays home too. He brings home colleagues from work almost every day, and when day leave, he plays with Ellie or spends some time with me, or goes drumming.
Since I have to wait another year before I can help dad, and I don't plan on looking for a job in the mean time, I spend most of my time outdoors, alone or with Elisa or Yuan. Yuan has been great, I was a little bit afraid that he would have found some one else, but he still loves me! We go out almost every night!
I don't want to bring him home every night, and his home is always so busy, so we need to be ceative at times, but we always find places where we can be together, even if it's in the car!
Only 1 year, and then I can go with dad to the café. It's not that I'm eager to help him, I just want to go there, be around other sims, meet new sims. Only 1 year and it can start!

Note: I know it's a long update, the longest I ever written I think, but when I started writing, there was just so much Fran wanted to tell, and I couldn't stop!

Spring 2012

After the familygathering at Xiang and Tika's wedding last winter, it now is time to gather the whole family together again. This time for the wedding of Xun Zang and Tosca de Groot.
They desided not to get married at a church, but to enjoy the lovely springweather, and have a wedding outside. Up Hill Parc seemed like the perfect location, with all the nice spots for pictures.
It really looks good, in front of the lake. The bride also looks amazing. For this special occasion, she wore the Zang-familyjewelry. This jewelry has been a heirloom for some time now, and has been worn by Yena mostly, but for this occasion she was happy to give them to her new daughter-in-law.
Although Tao wasn't too happy about having to close the shop, he came to the wedding, realizing that his son does most of the work with the customers. Yuan was also there, and to everybody's surprise he brought a 'date'; Françoise Roque. Xiang and his wife, Tika, were also there, and of course mother of the family, Yena, couldn't be missed.
They arranged to have food served at the parc, wich the family enjoyed together. There were also lots of toast the newly-weds.

Note: I know Françoise is still a teenager and Yuan is an adult, but they used to date when they were both teens, and I think they look cute together. By the way, Franoise is 17 and will be 18 soon, and there was no way, I would have let Yuan take his mistress to the wedding! Since Xun is needed in the shop, Xun and Tosca won't have a honeymoon. Xun really does everything in the shop. I know it sounds sad, but there also is the issue with money of course, and they simply don't have a lot of money to go on a honeymoon and craft robots at the same time.

Birthdays - Spring 2012

Finally a birthday this time! In the Mokara family we celebrate the birthday of David, the oldest son of the family is turning 1! He's very close in age with his younger brother, Sam, who will celebrate his first birthday in the winter of 2013.

The Verbon Family is only just starting their adventure with children. One morning, when Olaf was at work Mia went into labor.
And gave birth to Morgana Verbon, she has blue eyes like her mother and brown hair like her father.
Morgana was soon followed by her sister, Zenzi Verbon. Zenzi also has the brown hair from her father, but she has brown eyes, like her father.
So meet the Verbon family, complete with the newest additions; Morgana and Zeni.

And like Xiang already gave away in his letter to his parents, it seems like Tika and he brought home a little present from the Three Lakes lodgin resort.
Tika and Xiang will be welcoming their first child in the fall of 2012. The parents from both sides are thrilled about the news of course!

Lawrence: When you look at the house like this, it's almost unbelievable that it was little more than a dump when mom and dad moved in. The house today looks nice, it almost makes me want to stay here forever.
Almost, but not quite. I want to go to university. I even have dreams about it at night. I really want to go, and not only because dad wants all his children to go to university, it's a nice bonus to do something good in dad's eyes, but because I want so much out of this life, and university is one way to do so.
Jack wants to go to university as well, although I don't know his reasons, and I don't think I want to know them. He's a strange man, my brother. We don't look a like at all. He's all about girls, and like to brag about them, but never brings one home, while I like men, and never told anyone. He is not interested in anything that has something to do with school, while I'm always find a way to enrich myself!
Mom loves to have us all at home. She adores the weekends, because that means that the whole family is home. She also loves dad, he's the love of her life she keeps telling, sometimes I don't get that, I see dad as a harsh man, always busy with work, but at other moments, when I see them together, I can see what mom ever saw in him, and I wish I will one day find a love like that.
The weekends also mean study-time. During the day dad doesn't want us to go out or have friends over. If it were up to him, it would we like that the whole weekend, but mom made an agreement that that regime would only be on one day. The other day we are free to do what we want.
It's not only Jack and I who have to study. The girls are also put to work, but they don't seem to mind though.
The only one not having to do something it Morgan, but he's only 6, so nobody can really get mad about that. Mom tries to keep him busy so he doesn't disturb us; she reads to him or playes videogames with him.
Ever since dad gotten his last promotion, and reached the top of his career, he has been more relaxed, not so focussed on his work anymore, but he's not thinking about retirement at all! Even though he's more relaxed, I have the feeling he doesn't know what to do with his spare time.
At the end of the weekend there were some changes ahaed. Gabriëlle and Laura became 11, so we had a double birthdayparty. Mom was a little bit sad that Catherine couldn't come, but she's too busy with univerisity.
The other thing that caused some changes in the house was Jack and I leaving for university. Dad brought us in his new car. It would have been great if Jack or I were allowed to drive, we both begged dad for it, but it was no. Anyway, Jack is majoring in literature and I'm majoring in drama.

Note: The Penninkmeijers made a lot of changes to the house since they first moved in, this is how the house looked when they moved in, inside there was no flooring, or wall-covering.

Zanobi 1 - Winter 2012

Lucas and Sophie are 37, Emma is 6 and Julian is 1

Sophie: I know it wasn't such a great idea, but Lucas and I finanlly did something with the garden, put a fence around it, planted some trees and put down some swings. It wasn't a great idea, but it was OK. Afterall we live next to his brother, and they have amazing front yard, we need to be on the same level.
We are also tlaking about redoing our bedroom and putting down a new color in the livingroom. It's time for some changes, after all it hasn't been changed since Lucas' parents died. Lucas isn't too fond of the idea, but he will come around, once he sees the plans.
Enough talk about that, I will get my way eventually, on to the children now. There is no way you can't love Emma! She's such a doll. She's an amazing help around the house even though she's only 6. She makes her bed every morning, put away her dirty dish, and does her homework every day.
I love it when Lucas and Emma are watching TV together and are talking. Lucas isn't much of a talker, but Emma always gets him to chat with her about the silliest things!
Of course, there is Julian. The most adorable toddler in SimsVille, even in whole SimNation! He has the most amazing green eyes you've ever seen. Lucas keeps telling me that my eyes are the same, but I can't see that. I love putting him down for the night, he just waits for me to give him a good night kiss.
Of course we can't be with the kids every day, all day long, although I would love that, but then where would the money come from? Not that we make a lot of money with the restaurant, but for now we manage, and it's necessary that we open of course.
In the mean time, the kids stay with a nanny. Emma calls over some friends most of the time, or just does her homework or watches TV. Of course now with the swingset in the garden, she plays there a lot too.
Did you notice the new color on the livingroom walls?
The nanny is great for Julian, and for preparing food for Emma, but Emma told me that she thinks the nanny is lonely. Everytime she invites a friend over, the nanny comes to talk to that friend, and it can be really annoying sometimes! In a few years we don't need her services anymore, Emma will be old enough to stay home alone and even look after her little brother.

Rai 1 - Winter 2012

Berend is 52, Ella is 49 and Madeleine is 14

Berend: Life is getting so boring! I've reached what I wanted to reach; Ella and I were able to build an amazing house. But that's about it. Every day I go to work, only to get away from home. Because at home there is Ella, and I just don't like being around her lately, all she do is complaining; I don't make enough paintings, I don't work hard enough to get a promotion, there's always something wrong.
For Madeleine I don't have to stay home either. She's my daughter but sometimes I don't feel like her father at all. She's mostly chatting on the phone or on the computer. Also Ella taught her the art of crafting pots, so when she has a little bit time left Ella is pushing her to craft pots.
Even when they are not doing things for the shop, they do things together, and it makes me feel even more like an outsider in my own house and family!
So even though we sleep in the same bed, next to each other, I don't feel like I belong here anymore, with Ella. But I have no idea where I do belong, so I'll just stick around a little bit longer and see where we end up.
When Ella isn't home, and I don't feel like painting, I chat on the computer a lot. This way I met a girl, her name is Emily. So one day, when I was all alone in the house, and yet again didn't feel like painting, I desided to invite her over. She is even more amazing in real life than I thought.
One thing led to another, and before we both knew it, I showed her the bedroom. Ooh, that morning was magical, something I hadn't expirienced in a long time. But that morning was over so fast, before we knew it, we heard the school bus stop in front of the house, and Madeleine was home. I just said Emily was a friend, who wanted to see some of my paintings, I think Madeleine believed it.
Although Madeleine believed me, and didn't tell anything about it to Ella, Ella and I had a huge fight that night. She was really furious that I didn't finish some more paintings. I'm getting so tyred of that complaining! I didn't say a thing and went to bed!
